Virginia Lockhart Smith, 96, of Etowah, TN passed away on Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at McMinn Memorial Nursing Home.

A daughter of the late Thomas and Eliza Lockhart; she was of the Baptist faith and was a retired dietician at McMinn Memorial Nursing Home.

Preceded in death her husband, James Cruiser Smith; step-daughter, Sharon Duggan; step-son, Houston Smith;and sisters, Edith Pangle, Beulah Melton, Pauline Casteel and Lillian Watson.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Vicki and Jerry Standridge of Englewood, TN; grandson and spouse, Curt and Missy Standridge of Madisonville, TN; great-grandchildren, Aaron Standridge, Keely Standridge and Paisley Standridge all of Madisonville; step-daughters, Nadine Wilson, Lura Leatherwood and Jo Ella Curtis; sister,Mildred Patterson; several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to friends, staff at McMinn Memorial Nursing Home, residents and their families and Dr. Samuel Olsen for all their love and support.

A graveside service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Friday November 18, 2016 at McMinn Memory Gardens with Mark Hensley officiating. Family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon Friday prior to the service at the funeral home.

Lynn Wampler, Clayton Taylor, Randy Mason, Dale Belk, Curt Standridge and Aaron Standridge will serve as pallbearers.
