Virginia A. Wells, age79, originally from Chattanooga but a resident of Athens, TN for 13 years,passed away Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at her residence. She was amember of South Liberty Baptist Church. She loved gospel music and was active in feeding the homeless. Virginia was thedaughter of the late James H. Tolliver and Mary Elsie Berry Tolliver.She was preceeded in death by her parents listed above, her husband, Jimmy D. Wells, infant son, Ernest David Wells and grandson Joey Waters.

Survivors include her sons and spouse; James and Teri Waters, of Aiken, SC,Jimmy Don Wells and special friend Myrtle Wymer, daughters and spouses;Marilyn "Sam" and Ronnie Massingale, of Calhoun, TN,Becky and James Bishop of Riceville, TN,Grandchildren; Stephanie and husband Rex Runyan of Athens, TN,Steven and wife Pam Bowman of Columbus, Ohio,Christina and husband Edward Weeks of Etowah, TN,Ryan Wilson of Etowah, TN,Joseph and wife Lisa Duncan of Aiken, SC,Matt and wife Savanna Duncan of Aiken, SC,Aimee Bishop of Riceville, TN andJessica and husband Willie Owens,Great Grandchildren; Dalton, Carlie and Joe Runyan, Becca and Ivan Bowman, Hayden and Elizabeth Wilson, Ashlee and Lacie Duncan, Dillion, Audrey and Andrea Duncan, and Lawton Owens

The funeral service will be held at 8:00p.m. Thursday, September 11, 2014 in the South Chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home.Pastor Greg Watson will officiate.Family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday September 11, 2014 in the South Chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home.Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 9:45 a.m. Friday, September 12, 2014 and proceed to Calhoun Cemetery for the 11:00 a.m. committal service.

James Waters, Rex Runyan Jr, Dalton Runyan, Joe Dunkin, Steve Bowman, and Ryan Wilson will be pallbearers.
