A Native and lifelong resident of Etowah, she was a daughter of the late Oscar Andrew Sr. and Lucille Moses Latham. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Etowah, the garden club and was past president of the Etowah City School PTA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Taylor Thompson; one son, John Robert "Bobby" Thompson; one brother, O.A. Latham; and one sister, Doris Yount.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Harrianne Thompson of Benton; a special friend, Dora Broderick of Etowah; five grandchildren, Hank Charles Thompson. Jason Thompson, Erica Thompson Roberts, Paige Layman and Alexis Jenkins; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m., Monday in the South Chapel, of Bordwine Funeral Home with Pastor Aaron Pierce and the Rev. Lee Fox officiating. Burial will follow in Etowah Cemetery with grandsons serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
