W. Virginia Clark, 88, of Benton, died Thursday, May 10, 2012, at Life Care Center of Cleveland. A native of Monroe County and a resident of Benton for most of her life, she was a member of First Baptist Church of Benton. A daughter of the late Andrew and Eva Hamby, she was preceded in death by her husband, Claude K. Clark; four sisters, Nina and Inez Hamby, Altha Ferrell and Agel Lane; and one brother, Ralph Hamby. Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Wilma and Mart Duggan of Athens, Joan and Jim Dixon of Tucson, Ariz., and Carolyn Clark of Cleveland; one sister, Iowa Hamby of Etowah; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 4 p.m. Sunday in the South Chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with David Duggan and James K. Dixon officiating. Burial will follow in Benton Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be James Dixon, Joel Webb, Tim Johnson, Stanley Hamby, John Miller and Mark Clark. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
