Walter Denver Stiles, 86, of Englewood, TN passed away Thursday, July 30, 2026.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Zoe Stiles; brother, Charles "Dick" Stiles.

He was a 1959 graduate of Englewood High School. Later, he served in the U.S. Army, spending most of his service in Vicenza, Italy. Afterward, he owned several local businesses. Most notably, he was the owner/operator of Stiles Excavating where he worked on many projects throughout East Tennessee. 

He will be greatly missed by family and friends who he enjoyed spending time with and recounting stories of the past. 

He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Sue Stiles; son and daughter-in-law, Walter D. "Denny" Stiles Jr. and Janet Stiles; daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer Adkins and Billy Adkins; grandchildren, Adam Brown and wife, Daniela, Trenton Adkins, Zack Adkins, Allie Adkins; great-grandchildren, Emily Brown and Amy Brown; brother and sister-in-law, Delane and Lucille Stiles; sister-in-law, Bea Yarber.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with Pastor Tony Curtis officiating. 

Family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., Saturday, prior to the service.

Interment will follow in Conasauga Cemetery.
