Wanda Akins Watson Davis, 87, of Etowah, TN passed away Monday, June 3, 2024 at Morning Pointe of Athens.

Wanda was a member at Wesleyanna Global United Methodist Church. She was a retired registered nurse, receiving her LPN in 1968 from Tennessee Technology Center in Athens. She was a 1978 graduate of the RN program at Cleveland State Community College. She became licensed as a nursing home administrator through the University of Tennessee Knoxville. From 1967 to 1992, she served her calling in healthcare at Woods Hospital and Nursing Home as an aide, LPN, RN and nursing home administrator.

She is now reunited in glory with the love of her life, Poley Oscar Davis, who passed away on May 5, 2012. She is also preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Nellie Akins; brothers and sisters-in-law, James "Arnold" Akins and Ann Akins, Bill Akins and Fay Akins.

To share her memories, she leaves behind her beloved son and daughter-in-law, Stan and Daisy Watson; beloved daughter, Sandy Watson Disspain; six grandchildren, Phillip, Fawna, Kaela, Justin, Kortney, and Hillary; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; brother and sister-in-law, Steve and Sandy Akins; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 5, 2024 in the chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with Pastor Bert Beria officiating.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday prior to the service.

Family and friends will assemble at Bordwine Funeral Home at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 6, 2024 and go in procession to Jones Chapel Cemetery for the 11:00 a.m. committal service.
