Wanda Evelyn Evans, 87, of Etowah, died Friday, June 3, 2011, at McMinn Memorial Nursing Home. A daughter of the late Basil and Sarah Brady, she was a lifelong resident of McMinn county. She was a retired CNA and ward clerk at Woods Memorial Hospital and, prior to her illness, she was an active member of the Etowah Senior Citizens Club. She was preceded in death by one son, Neal Evans; and seven sisters and brothers.Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Sheila and Ron Allison of Saltville, Va.; grandchildren and their spouses, Mishea Stokes, Kenny and Monty Evans, Rona Goff and Bobby and Kayla Coffey; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 8 p.m. Monday in the South Chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with Chaplain Kevin Becker officiating. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 10 a.m. Tuesday, and will proceed to McMinn Memory Gardens for the 11 a.m. burial with family and friends serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
