Warren Gilbert Harding Davis, 92, of Etowah, TN passed away on Friday, March 29, 2013 at his residence. He was a son of the late Leonard S. and Nola Davis. He was a member of Goodsprings Baptist Church and active member of the Goodsprings Community; he helped build the Goodsprings Community Center and helped with youth sports. A retired Millwright from Alcoa with 42 years of service, he served in WWII in the Pacific and was an eye witness to McArthur returning to the Philippines. He was preceded in death by his Wife, Geneva Davis; brother, Eugene Davis; sister, Mildred Walker; 2 brothers-in-law, Dewayne "Fid" and Marvin Crittenden. Survivors include his 3 daughters and 1 son-in-law, Dianne Brown, Sandra Baggett, Kathy and Vic Miller; Grandchildren and spouses, Bary Brown, Ginger and Tony Steed, Matthew and Tammy Brown, Candice and Robbie Stizlar; Great-grandchildren, Paige Steed, Brandon Brown, Lauren Steed, Madison Brown, and Will Stizlar; Special family friend, Richard Luse.
Funeral Service will be held at 8:00 p.m., Sunday, March 31, 2013, in the South Chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with Rev. Glen Gamble, Rev. Oran Creasman and Rev. Jack Burns officiating. Family will receive friends from 6 to 8, Sunday prior to the service. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home, Monday, April 1st at 10:00 a.m., and proceed to Goodsprings Cemetery for the 11:00 a.m., committal service with Military Honors.
