Rev. Wendell Eugene Puett, 73, of Etowah, TN passed away peacefully with his wife, Karen by his side on Friday, January 10, 2025. He is now free from pain and walking again. He leaves behind a legacy of faith and family.
Wendell loved his family, and was a lifelong member of Coghill Baptist Church where he was ordained as deacon. He was ordained into the ministry as a bi-vocational minister and served as pastor at New Bethel Baptist Church and Old Pond Hill Baptist Church. Wendell was an extremely hard worker in all that he did. He worked at J.M. Huber and retired from there after 30 years of dedicated service. During his retirement, he enjoyed spending time with family, woodworking, fishing, and camping.
Wendell was preceded in death by his parents, Loyd and Blanche Puett; brother, Doyle Puett; grandson, Dawson Lairmore; and his in-laws, Bernard and Helen Lipps.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Karen Trotter Puett; daughters and sons-in-law, Wendy and Lloyd Jones, Shelly and Joe Lairmore, and Mandy Puett; grandchildren, Dalten and Claudia Lairmore; brother and sister-in-law, Danny and Zelma Puett; sister, Neta Puett; sister-in-law, Gayle Puett; brother-in-law, Alvin Lipps; and niece, Scarlet Poteet.

Funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 15, 2025 in the chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with Rev. Joe Hatcher officiating.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday prior to the service.
Family and friends will assemble at 12:00 p.m., Thursday, January 16th at the funeral home and proceed to Coghill Cemetery for the 1:00 p.m. committal service.
Lloyd Jones, Joe Lairmore, Dalten Lairmore, Ernie Droke, Eddie Culberson, and Steve Trew will serve as pallbearers.
