William "Bill" Barber, 68, of Englewood, TN passed away, Thursday, October 13, 2011 with his family at his side. Bill was born December 3, 1942 in Norwich, CT. As a young man, he served in the U.S. Army, and retired from Dow Chemical after 20 years. Bill was a man who absolutely loved his wife and family. Everyone that crossed paths with him couldn't help but be attracted to his ability to make you laugh and his sweet, loving spirit. Bill was preceded in death by 1 son, William F. Barber Jr.; father, Raymond Barber; mother and step father, Marion and Henry Carden; 1 brother, David Carden. Bill is survived by wife, Elke Barber, 4 daughters and sons-in-law, Tina "Barber" and Wes Atwell of Englewood, TN, Robin "Barber" and Doug Metcalf of Luka, IL, Arne and Bob Yates of Shorewood, IL, Julie and Dave Claypool of Morris, IL; 3 sons and daughters-in-law, Sven and Marylou Cole of Moreno Valley, CA Jeff and Diana Cole of Morris, IL, Jim and Jackie Cole of Channahon, IL. 18 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. 1 sister and brother-in-law, Myrtle and Raymond Eresman of Niantic, CT; 2 brothers and sisters-in-law, Raymond and Roxanne Barber of Bozrah, CT, and Harold and Mary Barber of Voluntown, CT. Graveside service will be held 2 p.m., Tuesday, October 18, 2011, at McMinn Memory Gardens with Diana Cole, daughter-in-law speaking.
