William “Bill” Collins, 94, of Etowah, TN passed away Saturday, September 19, 2026.

Bill proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He was a graduate of the University of Tennessee. Following his military service, he dedicated his career to education and was a retired teacher with Etowah City Schools, where he touched the lives of many students. He was also a faithful member of Woodward Avenue Church of God.

He was preceded in death by parents, Charles and June Collins; sister, Aileen Brown; brothers, Charles Collins, Wayne Collins.

Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Bruce and Darnita Collins; granddaughter and her husband, Madelyn and Zack Vankirk; great-grandchildren, Sawyer James and Hazley Grace; brothers and sister-in-law, Robert and Shirley Collins, Jack Collins, and Jerry Collins; special friend, Francis Watson; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held at 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 23, 2026 in the chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with Pam Duggan, Senior Adult Pastor of Woodward Church of God, officiating.

Family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Wednesday prior to the service. 

There will be a private entombment at a later date.
