William Buford Jenkins, Sr., 74, of Reliance, died Thursday, April 22, 2010 at his residence. A native and lifelong resident of Polk County, he was a son of the late Jack and Bonnie Jenkins. He was a member of Hiwassee Union Baptist Church in Reliance. His hobbies included hunting and fishing. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Hubert Don "Pig" Jenkins. Survivors include his wife, Brenda Jenkins of Reliance; three sons and daughters-in-law, Bill and Kim Jenkins of Knoxville, Joe and Barbara Jenkins of Cleveland, and Sam Jenkins of Reliance; three grandchildren, Meghan Van Devander and husband David, Zach Jenkins and Sarah Jenkins; one sister and brother-in-law, Brenda Lee and spouse Henry; one sister-in-law, Patsy Jenkins; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral service will be held at 8 p.m. Saturday, April 24, 2010 in the South Chapel with the Rev. Benny Thomas officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 until 8 p.m. Saturday prior to the service.

Family and friends will assemble at Hiwassee Union Baptist Church Cemetery at 1 p.m. Sunday, April 25, 2010 for the committal service.
