Obituary

William L. Lemings, 94, of Etowah, died Monday, October 11, 2010 at Etowah Health Care Center.

A native of Vonore and resident of McMinn County most of his life, he was a son of the late Devro Foute and Cora E. McCulloch Lemings. He was a member and former deacon of First Baptist Church in Englewood. He was preceded in death by a brother, Herman Leming; a sister, Imogene Willard; and a grandchild from Michigan.

Survivors include his wife, Daisy Lemings of Etowah; one daughter, Deborah Yates of Old Fort; two sons, Robert L. Lemings of Maryville and Stephen Lemings of Niota; grandchildren, Krista Cope of Nashville, Brian Lemings of Maryville, Amy Lemings of Maryville, Dylan L. Lemings of Niota, and three grandchildren from Michigan; 4 great-grandchildren; and several other nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral service will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, October 13th in the South Chapel with Pastor Randy Boggess officiating. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday prior to the service.

Family and friends will assemble at Green Hill Cemetery at 11 a.m. Thursday, October 14th for the committal service.
