William McKinley "Bill" Mayfield, 95, of Etowah, TN went to his heavenly home Sunday, October 16, 2022.

Bill was a member of Old Salem Baptist Church. In his free time, he enjoyed playing the guitar, farming, telling stories of working in road construction, and most importantly spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by parents, King David and Lizzie Jane Mayfield; brothers, Walter Raymond Mayfield, James Daniel "J.D." Mayfield, David Carroll Mayfield, Roy Quay Mayfield; sisters, Dorothy Ruth Nichols, Margaret Annaline Lewis; first wife, Blanche T. Mayfield; previous wife, Leslie Faye Mayfield; son, Douglas William Mayfield.

Survivors include his sisters and brother-in-law, Opal Joyce Belcher, Betty Lou and Jim Miller; granddaughter and spouse, Gretchen and Duane Ferguson; great-grandchildren, Makenzie and Makade Kittle; 16 nieces and nephews; step-son and spouse, Mike and Debbie Black; step-daughters and spouses, Jackie and Glen Textor, Darlene and Lee Vaughn, Ellen and Jimmy Summers.

The family would like to send a heartfelt thank you to the caregivers and providers at Athens Place, Hearth Hospice, and to Melissa Stewart for their loving care of Bill.

A private service and burial will be held.
