Willie Lee Jeralds Borden, affectionately known as "Widdie", 95, of Englewood, went to be with the Lord, Saturday, March 1, 2014 at her residence surrounded by family.
A longtime resident of Englewood, she was a member of Englewood United Methodist Church. She worked for Oak Ridge National Laboratory, Ridge Textiles and was co-owner and manager of Borden's Grocery Store in North Englewood for many years.
She was the daughter of the late William Edward and Stella Lee Miller Jeralds. She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Harold Borden; son, Jerry Borden; 3 sisters, Maude Daugherty, Mildred Rapier, Hattie Brooks; 2 brothers, Jack Jeralds and Ed Jeralds; 2 great-grandchildren, Brooke Isbill and Beau Borden; and 2 sons-in-law, Doug Barnett and Joe Davis.
Willie was loving and giving to all. She loved everyone and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
"Our Widdie" leaves a large family to cherish her memory. Survivors include, son and daughter-in-law, Ronny and Joyce Borden of Etowah, 2 daughters, Betty Davis of Etowah and Pat Barnett of Englewood; daughter-in-law, Elaine Borden of Athens; grandchildren, Mike Borden of Chattanooga, Connie and TR Vincent of Decatur, Rod Borden of Etowah, Lisa and Jerry Miller of Englewood, Sandy and Gary Cline of Etowah, Bart and Jenny Borden of Cleveland, Kim and Jim Patterson of Etowah, Craig Barnett and Tracy Benson of Knoxville and Russ and Jennifer Barnett of Englewood; 16 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; Special caregivers, Tammy, Lenore, Janice and Sharon
Funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Monday, March 3, 2014 in the South Chapel, of Bordwine Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Tallent of Englewood United Methodist Church officiating. Family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Monday, prior to the service. Family and friends will assemble at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 4th, at the funeral home and proceed to McMinn Memory Gardens for the 11:00 a.m., Committal service. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
