Willie Mae Moore Davis,a devoted wife and mother, went to be with her Lord February 20, 2011. She was a friend to many and loved by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Lockie Moore; her husband, J. Woodrow Davis; her brothers, Benjamin and Robert Moore; her sisters, Pearl Moore Cowart and Frances Moore Jones; brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Joyce Davis; sisters -in-law, Pearl Davis Strickland, and Margaret Brewer; and her grandson, Craig Hill Harper. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Etowah and The Dorcas Sunday School Class. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Sidney R. (Dicky) Davis and wife Sandra, her daughters, Sonya Harper and husband Larry H. Harper, Sheila Davis and her husband David W. Davis. Grandchildren, Todd Davis and his wife Terri and their children Tate, Teagan, Tad and Tia, Mark T. Davis, L. Heath Harper and his wife Kay, and their children, Matthew and Peyton, Holly M. Harper, Scott Davis and his wife Leah and their Daughter Carolina. Carrie Ann Davis and her children, Grace and Noah; brother-in-law, Austin Davis of Chattanooga; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Harold and Mary Davis Whitehead of Knoxville, Elsie M. Moore of Kentucky and Shirley Moore of Etowah. Also survived by many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
Funeral service will be held Tuesday February 22, 2011 at 7pm, in the South Chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home. The family will receive friend Tuesday from 5 to 7 prior to the service. Dr. Robert J. Burns and Rev. Todd Davis will officiate. Family and friends will assemble at Green Hill Cemetery Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at 10:00 am for the committal service.
