Winston Clay Swafford, 81, of Riceville, passed away, on Sunday, September 11, 2011.A resident of Riceville, and lived in McMinn County most of his life.A son of the late Landon John and Julie Poteet Swafford. He was of Baptist faith and a member of Hiwassee Lodge # 188, Calhoun, TN, free and accepted Mason.He is preceded in death by his wife, Louise Swafford; parents, listed above; 2 brothers, Edward and Paul Swafford; and 1 sister, Nora Clark.He is survived by 1 son and daughter-in-law, Donald C. and Danita Swafford of Riceville, TN; 1 grandson, Andrew Wood of Virginia Beach; 1 granddaughter, Krista Wood of Riceville, TN; 2 great-grand children, KimaLee and Abbygail McHone of Riceville, TN; 1 brother, Horace Swafford of Riceville, TN. Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 14, 2011, in the South Chapel, of Bordwine Funeral Home, with the Bishop Roy Dale Martin and Rev. Benny Thomas officiating. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, September 13, 2011 in the South Chapel, with a Masonic Service to follow at 8 p. m. Interment to follow the funeral service,at Swafford Family Cemetery, in Riceville, TN.
