Eric Linn McCormick, 46, of Athens, TN, passed away Sunday, February 12, 2023.

He was born and raised in Cleveland, TN and a resident of McMinn County for the past 20 years.

Eric was married to the love of his life. The moment they met, they knew they were meant to be together until the end. All together they had nine children, adopted, blood, bonus and estranged, Eric really truly did love every one of them.

Eric was a great provider. He worked hard and long to make sure his family was taken care of. In his spare time, he loved to hunt and fish; he enjoyed the outdoors. He said he was most at peace when he was in the woods.

Eric was a simple man. He had few friends but held those few dearly to his heart.

Preceded in death by Bill and Chloe Giles, who raised him; mother, Tamra Giles; father, Earl "Cotton" McCormick; grandparents, Claude Sr. "Rab" and Mamie McCormack.

Eric leaves behind his wife, Joyce-Marie McCormick; children, Chaz, Samantha, Joshua and wife, Jessyca, Megan, Devin, Jeremy, Harley, Kimberly and Bailey; grandchildren, AJ, Axel, Adelynn, Aly, Bentley and Zaydyn; brothers and sisters, Earl "Corky", Jared, Chassy, Kelly and Cody and their spouses; many nieces and nephews.

No formal services will be held.
